View this post on Instagram It’s been a lotta driving. Last night we tried stopping at a neighborhood park to run the girls ragged at a playground and to eat dinner, brush teeth and put on pajamas before driving on into the night. Unfortunately, they had a hard time falling asleep in the car seats, possibly because of my nervous swearing from the driver’s seat when blinded by an oncoming trucker or after catching the reflection of indecisive deer’s eyes beside the road. . At 10:30, we queried @campendium for a place to stop, pulled into a somewhat sketchy-feeling CG that we wouldn’t have considered otherwise, double-locked the trailer doors and passed out with the car keys beside the bed just in case we felt the need to hit the panic button on the alarm in the middle of the night. Meh, I think we’ll stick to driving during the day. . Today, we got the miles done while the sun was up. Lots of seat time kept interesting by switching up shows on the iPad, family podcasts and Harry Potter audio book chapters, all punctuated by well-timed snacks.
