In two years on the road, we'd probably pulled into camp after dark a total of about two times. On this blast across country, it's been the last four campsites in a row. The other night, Wynne called from her car seat "It's dark outside, and I'm still awake again. Am I nocturnal?" . Yesterday, our choice of a 4:30 pm departure plus 50 miles of dirt and 250 miles of highway meant we put the kids to sleep in the car after dinner and drove until we pulled into a BLM CG outside of Winnemucca around 10:30 (11:30 in the time zone we'd started in).
