People always ask us what it's like traveling with kids. The answer is that it's a lot like not traveling with kids, a constant juggling act of sleep, food, potty, getting dressed and actually trying to get anything done. And of course, the one constant is that all that stuff is constantly changing. When we parked the trailer in July, Mae was solidly napping which meant we could cover a couple hours of ground with her snoozing in her seat and Wynne binge-watching Octonauts. Now, however, Mae's naps are hit and miss and today missed, which meant three hours of bribing with snacks, breaking up skirmishes across adjacent car seat lines and enduring a lot of whining. We'll figure out the trick to this next phase of driving soon enough, but for now, we just have to hope there's a lake like this at the end of every day. Within 5 minutes of arriving, they were both up past their shorts in the eerily warm water, playing happily with a couple cups they found. These dark clouds didn't roll in for another half hour but certainly meant it was time to get out of the water. Now, everyone's contentedly snuggled in the trailer as the lightening flashes in the windows and the rain pounds on the aluminum roof. #travelwithkids #familytravel #airstreamwithkids #maine #fulltimefamilies
