Before we hit the road, we upgraded the 10 year old Goodyear Marathons on the trailer to Michelin LTX M/S's and have loved them. While heckling the @backroadbennetts as they prepared to launch from Bozeman a month ago, I mentioned to Tyler that their tires were shot. He called the only Michelin dealer in town who, despite his masterful attempts at persuasion, refused to install LTX's on the grounds that they weren't technically a trailer tire. Cut to our tour of the Airstream factory a couple weeks ago where I noticed they were offering a premium tire upgrade option on trailers; You guessed it, the Michelin LTX. Well, after only 25K miles, the Bridgestone Duelers that came on the Sequoia are done (mostly because of some strange wear patterns), and we just replaced them with Michelin Defender LTX's, a replacement for the M/S2 with a longer wearing rubber. After getting them installed, they mentioned that the 30 lbs of mud caked to the insides of the wheels could have had something to do with the uneven tire wear. Guess I should have spent a little less time washing the Airstream and a little more time washing the car after the Top of the World Highway 5000 miles ago! #airstream #liveriveted #myrivetedlife #airstreamsandrubbers #trendingnow
