I just came across a couple from Humbolt who are about 6 months into essentially the exact trip we’re planning. They’re driving a Landcruiser with roof top tent and seem to making pretty much the same decisions we would about when to camp vs. spring for a motel, how to avoid the tourist traps, and when to chose the adventure or play it safe.
