We went back and forth on whether we needed one of those beefy front bumpers on the Xterra. While these things are commonly referred to as “cow catchers” or “bull bars,” for our purposes, they came to be known as “hippo deflectors.” Ultimately, we decided that the extra weight and flash wasn’t worth it, especially since we chose not to mount a winch. After watching this video, I think we made the right choice. What’s the big deal?
